WAFL Grand Final 2007
WAFL Grand Final 2007

Last year’s wooden spooners the Phoenix Demons are third on the ladder and Subiaco have a percentage of 196%. Half a million punters in WA are well across this.

Following consistent gains in attendance in recent years, crowds so far this season are 6% higher again. Local businesses might be interested to know that after only ten rounds over half a million West Australians have attended or watched WAFL on TV.

It’s a missed opportunity that there is still a WAFL sponsorship up for grabs. Value for money. Got a client looking for profile and community involvement? You can contact Mark or David at Media Tonic to discuss. 9388 7844.

New TV resource

Yes. But. Is there a competition hook? Will they lavish prizes on me with a launch promotion? Indeed: Media Tonic provide the following clickable image for your convenience …

A quick gloat

6 months ago Media Tonic correctly nominated the Halo 3 campaign as the year’s best ad. It just took out the film Grand Prix and the integrated Grand Prix at Cannes. ‘Film’ and ‘integrated’ are not integrated. And below is the annoying Japanese widget that won the Titanium Grand Prix. Note the volume control at bottom right.

Check out their spectacularly chic download page.

Logo design: FHD’s boner

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Department of Little Boy Jokes: the UK Office of Government Commerce (the Treasury) commissioned a new logo from a large communications consultancy FHD (‘we help our clients face the challenge of change’).

Rotated clockwise by 90 degrees the logo could be interpreted ungenerously. Via Crikey and (for further cruel commentary), The Register.

Ecstacy: it’s not for everybody

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

US web site Nerve has attempted to list the top 50 commercial parodies of all time. Not all the videos work due to copyright – but here are two that do: Ecstacy and Levitol. Levitol is #49 on the page. Results may vary; depending on your level of gay.
