Perth Cup, Railway Stakes, YOUR LOGO HERE

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Sponsorship packages for the Perth Cup and/or the Railway Stakes are a chance to reach large numbers of people in a high-impact setting. They’re sporting events but they’re also social events; a cost-effective way to impress key clients and build relationships.

Packages for the Perth Cup and Railway Stakes include advertising on the big screens and monitors throughout Ascot Racecourse, race naming rights and opportunities for mass sampling, as well as premium corporate hospitality.

Advertisers with a youth demographic would want to use the Perth Cup; Railway Stakes is more mainstream.

Interested? You’ll need to read the form guide.

Boots for breast cancer

Friday, October 24th, 2008

WA safety boots company Steel Blue WA took out an AMI Award (Australian Marketing Institute; apparently it’s a thing) for their sponsorship of the Breast Cancer Foundation. Raised over $240K by kicking in $30 every time someone bought a pair of purple safety boots. Congrats to Ros Worthington Ness Bradshaw and Ross Fitzgerald.

What’ll it be Daddy?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Srsly, what’s all this trash about a crackdown on alcohol advertising? After a hard day at the office educating the general public on the benefits of a consumer society, Daddy is entitled to a refreshing Media Tonic. Click Sally Draper’s illustration for a high resolution download. Sally has also done a series on Perth advertising executives: ROLE MODELS for responsible alcohol consumption.

The website is down (and not safe for work)

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

OK. That’s just doubled the click-throughs on the video. It’s also not safe for sales people or system administrators. There is a world-beating line in this video about the limitations of arranging your Windows desktop. I’m not going to ruin it for you.

The Newspaper Works

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Unfortunately their website does not. The new site set up to market the newspaper media is not quite ready for publication. Search for ‘The Australian’, ‘The West Australian’, ‘Sydney Morning Herald’; zero results. Most things in the Media Toolbox don’t work. There is a Newspaper Locator and if they get that working, that would be great, because I can never remember which room I left it in.

Biggest online sports site chooses Media Tonic

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Well actually they chose MCN, who Media Tonic represent in Western Australia. Details, details.

1.5 million unique visitors a month visit the foxsports.com.au site. In 2008 the most viewed sports web site in Australia. In August it was 18% ahead of 2007 levels.

So as a result of this very sensible re-alignment, you now have the ability to combine TV sport and online in a single buy. Or, as we like to say, a Powerful and Valuable Multimedia Sports Proposition. If you call us to discuss, we can say it to you over the phone. Dave or Mark: 9388 7844

Public pixels

TorchMedia’s digital screens are up and running in most BWS outlets. Completion by November 1st. I only mention it because most of our readers are non-drinkers and wouldn’t be aware. BWS Radio gets underway around the time the fat guy does the chimney thing.

The pharmacy screens are in beta at the moment and have a launch date of April ’09. If you have a client with pharmacy distribution you should feel free to contact us.

And now that the worst of the energy crisis is over, the CBD’s prime location digital sign is again available. That one on the building facing Riverside Drive. If you’re interested, please send us a sign.

Wish I Thought Of This Dept.

You start watching this and you think ‘big deal’ but trust me it gets better. An outstanding piece of web advertising for the ground-breaking Nintendo Wii. Click the image to see it.

It’s a Goodby, Silverstein & Partners ad: the same agency responsible for the Commonwealth Bank’s Let’s Make Fun of Americans campaign.
