Roll up! Roll up! No, put it away; have some fairy floss instead.
400,000+ West Australians went to the Perth Royal Show last year and guess what they all saw? No, NOT the cake decorating: the BIG SCREENS in the main arena. It’s a once-a-year opportunity to blitz nearly half the population of Perth.
What about you little fella? Have you got $66 for a 30 second ad? Come up the front here. Give him a round of applause ladies and gentlemen…
Why SURE there’s a minimum level of expenditure folks but you DO want to reach the whole 400,000 don’t you? Mr Fare and Mr Treasure are here today to answer your questions and you won’t leave here disappointed, no sir.
One of those promotions that just went too well; happens to us all the time too.
Oprah invited her TV audience to download a voucher for a free sample of the new KFC grilled chicken product (WAIT! DON’T GO; it’s not available here!) and they downloaded like there was no tomorrow because they’d never eaten grilled chicken before.
Did KFC remember to order more chicken before the promotion? Yes, but not an extra 4.5 million serves, leading to consumer backlash and recriminations. Good overview here by PR Week.
The Sit-In. The picketing. The happy ending.
Some innovative creative in some of these; mostly outdoor ads. If you own a Large Blank Wall or a Conspicuous Public Asset, you may be able to monetise that while attracting some attention. Also interested in talking to any West Australian organisation with high traffic and the potential to host a digital advertising network. Mark or Dave: 9388 7844.
What a privilege it is to do presentations to people in the advertising industry here in Perth …
Ok, not really.
