You think a few people might rock up to see Ben Cousins play for Richmond against Fremantle?

Monday, January 12th, 2009

NAB Cup starts February 7 in Perth at Subiaco Oval. Two matches are expected to pull very large crowds – big screen advertising slots can be bought through Media Tonic. The West Coast play Collingwood; Richmond play Fremantle. A third match is also possible, depending on results. These matches typically produce very economic buys particularly well suited to retail and events advertising. Trust me; I’m a sales person. If you don’t believe me, here’s a printed document.

It’s not that there is anything wrong with the Eagles or the Dockers. Their supporters are the problem and they need to lift. Here is a TV commercial that demonstrates.

WAFL Grand Final 2007
WAFL Grand Final 2007

Last year’s wooden spooners the Phoenix Demons are third on the ladder and Subiaco have a percentage of 196%. Half a million punters in WA are well across this.

Following consistent gains in attendance in recent years, crowds so far this season are 6% higher again. Local businesses might be interested to know that after only ten rounds over half a million West Australians have attended or watched WAFL on TV.

It’s a missed opportunity that there is still a WAFL sponsorship up for grabs. Value for money. Got a client looking for profile and community involvement? You can contact Mark or David at Media Tonic to discuss. 9388 7844.

Glass & Orbit

Orbit Health and Fitness Solutions have come to the sponsorship party and engaged Eagles captain Darren Glass as a brand ambassador. It’s a two year deal. Coincidentally, Darren had been into Orbit a couple of weeks before the sponsorship was proposed and spent some of the heard-earned.

Darren is managed by our partners at IMG and Media Tonic brokered the deal with Peter Hodgson, Orbit’s Managing Director. The company are the leading supplier of fitness equipment in the WA market, with eight showrooms, a wholesale division and an in-house service division with very impressive physiques.

We now have a partnership arrangement with IMG in Western Australia. You probably already know they represent many of the world’s leading sports people; Tiger Woods, Venus Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal … but there are also relationships with the world’s most sought after speakers, like Steve Wozniak, Jack Welch and Al Franken, author of “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations”. IMG is the #1 ranked international modeling agency; looking after Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Gemma Ward but that was absolutely not a factor in our decision to take them on.

If you’re interested in using this calibre of talent to sell your client’s brand, through endorsements, licensing or speaking engagements, we can help match talent and marketing strategy. Phone Mark or David on 9388 7844.

In addition to these international celebrities we now have access to Australia’s most important list of sporting celebrities. Particularly strong in Australian Rules Football with over 50 of the AFL’s best. Eagles Captain Darren Glass is IMG talent and an endorsement opportunity at the time of writing.
